Love Story was founded in 2023 by Bianca Stilwell, a designer based in Southern California and Buenos Aires. She trained in leatherwork in the UK and Argentina before running a successful leather business focusing on architectural interiors and leather accessories in NYC.

With a wide variety of influences including 16th century Venetian artisanship, medieval armour, saddlery and post-modern fantasy, Love Story is currently focused on reviving the medieval leather-moulding technique ‘cuir bouilli’, a complex chemical process that gives leather a dynamic sculptural property. Carefully controlling water, oils and heat, the production process naturally creates subtle marks and variations of colour in the leather - this is an inherent design feature of authentic ‘cuir bouilli’ technique.
